Kuwait University Director Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem presided over the fifth University Council meeting on November 24, 2025, at Sabah Al-Salem University City.
Opening Remarks
The Director opened the session by congratulating the university community on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of Kuwait University’s founding on November 27, 1966.

The Council approved several important resolutions:
- Graduate Studies College announcement regarding student admission for 2026/2027
- Cooperation agreement with Kuwait Gulf Oil Company
- Memorandum of Understanding with the University of St Andrews (Department of Philosophy) in Scotland
- Security and Safety Regulation establishment
Academic Promotions
The Council approved promotions for 42 faculty members to Professor and Associate Professor ranks across various colleges:
- 1 Professor (Scientific Colleges)
- 5 Associate Professors (Scientific Colleges)
- 15 Professors (Humanities and Social Sciences Colleges)
- 21 Associate Professors (Humanities and Social Sciences Colleges)
